Celebration show on New Year's Eve
Chinese New Year's Eve refers to the night at the end of the lunar year’s last day. It is one of the most important Han Chinese traditional festivals.
Here are two notable events that mark this unforgettable day.
Dance of the Yi people: "Xixiang Bazi - A Nest of Sparrows"
This traditional dance highlights the fascinating ecological features of the environment and scenery. Depicting the wind rising from the east, the swallows returning from the south and other birds in Xixiang flying all over the sky. The dance is full of happiness.
(Note: This program won the silver award in the first Yunnan TV Dance Competition of "Xuantuo Cup" in 2012)
Acrobatic Program: Hula Hoop
The hula hoop is widely loved, especially by young people, because of its attractive features: you only need a small space to use it, it shows an amazing rhythm and, for the user, gives the body a good workout, stretching different muscles.
The acrobatic programme brings the hula hoop, which is a fashionable sport with national characteristics, onto the acrobatic stage, and organically integrates the difficult skills and modern elements of hula hoop with the unique HuayaoDai people’s culture in Yunnan.
In July 2019, the show won the title of "Excellent Programme of the 10th National Acrobatic Exhibition".
