Bajie Town is located around 36 kilometres to the southwest of Anning, Kunming City. At an altitude of 1940 metres, and boasting an average annual temperature of 14.8℃, it is the perfect, pollution-free spot for planting edible roses.
Bajie Town has been cultivating the flowers since the 1950s and 1960s, across an area of nearly 10,000 mu. It is the main planting area in Yunnan Province.

Rose Flower Cake
The best time to pick the roses is from April to May each year, early in the morning.
When the flowers are cultivated, they are checked and then stored in a freezer of transported by refrigeration trucks to processing factories.
For Rose Flower Cake, the making of the filling is the first important step. Crushed petals are mixed with honey and sugar, then refrigerated to reduce bitterness. The filling provides a delicious taste.
