Circumnavigate Erhai Lake: The beauty of Erhai Lake is captivating. It's recommended to travel in a clockwise direction, as both the west and east roads around the lake are designed for travel this way. It means you'll be closer to the lake and will enjoy a more intimate experience. Along the way, you can also admire Butterfly Spring, Xizhou Ancient Town, Shuanglang, and other scenic spots.
Spend a Day in the Tranquility of Cangshan Mountain: Visiting Cangshan is a must when in Dali. Start with the most artistic temple, Jizhao Temple, to contemplate Zen and enjoy some Zen tea. Dali → Shaxi
Shaxi, a Town on the Ancient Tea Horse Road
Jianchuan Shaxi, an essential stop for many dream seekers, lacks the hustle and bustle of Lijiang and the commercialism of Dali. It's simple and tranquil, though quite small. Shaxi is indeed petite but exquisite.
By Bus: Buy a ticket at Xiaguan Bus Station to Jianchuan. After arriving in Jianchuan, take a green minivan marked "Rural Transportation" to Shaxi Ancient Town. The fare is 13 yuan per person, payable upon disembarking. The entire journey takes approximately 50-60 minutes.
Chartered Car: The journey takes about 2.5 hours. The cost of chartering a car is around 280 yuan per day.
Dali → Tengchong
Tengchong, an Emerald City on the Edge of the Earth
Tengchong is located on the western border of Yunnan, adjacent to Myanmar. It was once a crucial stop on the ancient southwestern Silk Road. With dense forests, verdant hills, and picturesque scenery, it boasts China's most concentrated volcanic group and geothermal hot springs, creating an amazing landscape.

By Bus: Direct buses are available from Dali City's bus stations. Both the Xingsheng Bus Station and Gucheng Bus Station offer services. There are approximately seven buses daily from 8:50 to 16:40, with a travel time of seven hours (for reference only). Ticket prices range from about 140 to 171 yuan.
