"Raosanlin”Bai people--National Intangible Cultural Heritage
Originating from Nanzhao, the ritual was initially about praying for rain pregnancy and crops harvest to the Benzhu God of Bai people. Today,it has combined religions folklore singing,dancing and playing instrument. It has developed into a comprehensive festive custom of Bai people. From the 23rd -25th day of the fourth lunar month every year, generation by generation wishes and prayers have been made to Buddhas josses and immortals , which is call “Raosanling”( there sprits).
From the City God Temple of Dali Old Town, people set out for praying. A 3-day spring tour is kicked off.
