Sky Tree Scenic Area, Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest National Park (Wangtianshu Scenic Area)

Sky Tree Scenic Area in Xishuangbanna (also known as Wangtianshu Scenic Area) is located around 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) from Mengla County and 134 kilometers (83 miles) from Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. It is the main scenic destination of Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest National Park.

The vast reserve is more than 864 hectares (2,100 acres) in land area. It is an ideal place to go for the full tropical rainforest experience. It’s famous for its forest canopy with towering Wangtianshu, or Sky Trees, trees soaring as high as 80 meters (263 feet) into the air.

There’s a paved trail that can be used for hiking through the forest, and there’s a network of suspension bridges that enable visitors to experience the rainforest from the heights. Cruise boats are available on the Nanla River.

The best time of day to visit is in the morning, and the best months of the year to visit are from March to November.

Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest National Park attracts adventurers, biologists, bird watchers, photographers and cultural explorers. People travel from all over the world to experience the rainforest with its great biodiversity, fertility and the vitality of the many life forms that thrive in the rainforest ecosystem. It’s also a good place to encounter the Dai culture and Dai people who are living according to their traditional customs.
