Pu'er, a place that stops me and slows my pace; a city that prospers from tea production and has established a predestined relationship with tea. It is a place where you can pick tea leaves along the streets and roads, with the aroma of tea in the air.
Pu'er is a city where you can explore mysterious forests, taste sensational Pu'er tea, eat food from the earth, enjoy folk songs and dances and breath natural air.
In Pu'er, everything is quiet. It is an elvish city not even indicating the change of seasons. There are no clues left by rainy weather because there is always lasting Pu'er tea fragrance in the air.
Walking along the old streets and alleys, they all still tell their historical vicissitudes. The Lahu architecture, the Dai people’s bamboo houses, red gates, black tiles and white walls. These might be the uniqueness. Occasionally a bird flies over, briefly lands and then quickly flies away from a shallow eave.
Walking in Chayuan Square, the hospitable Pu'er people will warmly greet you at the tea table. Whether you are resting your feet or tasting tea, or even just taking a look, you will be treated like an honoured guest.
Following the steps of Meizi Lake Park, I saw happy new couples taking photos, children playing on boats. All those remind me of my childhood innocence, the hope and yearning for happiness.
Pu'er is a city where I can’t stop exploring, tasting and loving.
